for Computational Electromagnetics
Your Responsibilities:
You represent the field of Computational Electromagnetics in research and teaching in a comprehensive way. The research profile of the newly appointed professorship should additionally sharpen the profile of the University of Siegen in the field of sensor technology, nanotechnology and/or quantum systems.
Cooperation and networking of the professorship within the Faculty IV and/or the Center for Sensor Systems (ZESS), especially participation in collaborative research projects, is expected.
Your profile:
We are looking for an individual with outstanding research experience in computational electromagnetics and its applications in at least one of the following areas:

- Smart Sensors and Actuators,
- Integrated Optoelectronic Devices,
- Optical Computing for Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence,
- Quantum Engineering including Optics, Control and Sensing,
- Data-driven Modelling / Machine Learning in Computational Electromagnetics
You are expected to have a strong scientific background in electrical engineering, an outstanding international track record, and extensive experience in the acquisition, implementation, and management of externally funded projects. Since the call for applications covers a wide range, you should be able to demonstrate the potential of your special research topics and your ability to network them at the University of Siegen.
In addition, the ability and willingness to offer courses in German and English in the Bachelor's and Master's degree programs in Electrical Engineering and to contribute to the administrative self-administration of the university are expected.
