Please use our job portal for your application.
If you are applying to the University of Siegen for the first time, you must first create a personal user account under "My Profile." This also applies if you have not accessed your user account for a period of 6 months, as we will delete your data completely in this case.
If you have already created an account, you can log in at any time with your login data (e-mail address and password) and access your profile. With your profile, you can easily apply for open positions via our job portal. To do this, select the job posting that suits you and then click "Apply now.".

We require a personal cover letter and a resume from you. In addition, you are welcome to provide us with the certificates relevant to your entry-level position (transcript of the highest school-leaving qualification, university transcript(s) and/or training and work references, if applicable) as well as relevant certificates and attestations.

Print the documents in question using a PDF printer and save them. The documents will then be suitable for upload.

A single document must not exceed a file size of 10 MB. To reduce the size of a file, you can reduce the resolution of the file. This will result in some loss of quality, but the file will also be significantly smaller. It is best to use a PDF printer for this purpose.

Unfortunately, we cannot consider a written application.
The online application offers you numerous advantages. For example, there are no costs for paper, postage, packaging, or expensive application folders, and you can check the current status of your application at any time.
Please note:
For research assistants and student assistants, the regulations for submitting applications specified in the respective advertisements apply, as these positions cannot currently be processed via the job portal. For all other positions (in the areas of scientific staff, technical and administrative staff, and trainees), applications are accepted exclusively via the job portal.

If you would like to apply for one of the advertised positions, you must first create a personal user account (e-mail address and password required).
After successful registration, it is best to start uploading your resume under "My Documents." Here you can also upload your cover letter and relevant references. In the next step, the system will try to extract the most important data from your resume and automatically fill in as many fields in your profile as possible. Please check the completed fields under "My profile" and complete or correct – if necessary – the information about your career to date.
With your profile, you can easily apply for one or more of the current job openings in our job portal.
At any time, you have the option to halt the application process, save your application, revise it at a later time, or submit it. You can also access an overview of your previous applications and the current application status in your profile.

If you have already prepared your documents, especially your cover letter and resume, the application process in our job portal usually takes no longer than 15 minutes.

You can save your entries or changes at any time and continue your application at a later date.

Unfortunately, we cannot consider unsolicited applications at this time.
We regularly publish new job postings in our application portal and therefore invite you to use the job notification option, which will inform you specifically about new job postings. To do so, please go to "My Profile," select "Options" and "Job Notifications" to set up a custom-fit notification.

If you are interested in more than one of the advertised positions, you can of course apply for several positions at the same time. To do so, please click the "Apply now" button in the desired job posting. You will be taken to your profile (after logging in) and directly to the new application. This is apparent to you in that you will now see the title of the selected job posting in the header of your profile and no longer the "My profile" heading. In this window, all your already entered data and documents from your previous application are still stored. Please update the desired data and documents. You can also temporarily save this application and continue it later, if desired. Otherwise, you can click Apply now at the bottom right of the screen and submit your second application. For additional applications, please proceed as described above.

Before you can start the application process and create a profile, you must accept and confirm our privacy policy. Please read this information carefully.
With your application, a personal profile will automatically be set up with us. With your registered e-mail address and password, you can access your profile at any time and complete or update or delete it. The personal data you enter as part of the application process and the documents you upload will be collected, processed and used by us solely for the purpose of processing your application and, in the recruitment process, for the necessary committee involvement (staff councils, equal opportunities officers, and, if applicable, representatives of the severely disabled). Your data will be stored and processed by the University of Siegen in accordance with the applicable data protection regulations and will not be passed on to third parties. You also have the option of viewing the privacy policy in your profile at any time and revoking it. Please note, however, that a revocation of the privacy policy will automatically result in the deletion of your profile. In this case, your application would be considered withdrawn. Your personal profile data will be automatically deleted 6 months after your last log-in to the application portal, unless you actively remove your profile beforehand using the ">Options >> Settings >>> Delete profile" function. By actively using the profile, you will of course retain your profile. You can also create a new profile at any time.

Once we have received your application via our application portal, you will receive a confirmation of receipt by e-mail. In the next step, your application will be carefully reviewed by the responsible department as well as the HR department, and then a decision will be made as to whether you will be invited for a personal interview. This may take a few days. We will then contact you as soon as possible.

When you click "Apply now," the system will create a kind of screenshot of your data, which will be transmitted to us. Afterwards, you can only send us updated data for an application that has already been submitted by using the e-mail address support-karriere@uni-siegen.de. In order for us to be able to assign your data, please include the advertisement ID and the note "Documents to be subsequently submitted" in the subject of your e-mail.
In your profile, under "Current application processes," you will find an overview of the applications currently submitted, with the data and documents submitted in each case.
For your further applications, you can of course update your data in your profile at any time. You can also upload additional documents using the "Add document" button.

After each successfully submitted application, you will receive a confirmation of receipt by e-mail. If your applicant profile does not contain a job for which you have applied, you have successfully created your profile but have not yet sent an application for a specific job.
