Your responsibilities:

We are seeking a candidate who will represent the subject area of ‘Educational Science with a focus on Primary School Education’ in both teaching and research – covering both theoretical foundations and empirical research – and who will contribute to its strategic development. 
Teaching will cover educational science and special needs educational science with a focus on inclusive teaching in primary schools, the Bachelor's programme ‘Educational Science: Diversity and Inclusion’ as well as the Bachelor’s programme ‘Art history and Art education’.  The candidate should be willing to contribute to the academic development of the degree programmes and to participate in the work of the self-governing bodies. The teaching load is 9 contact hours per week.

• A relevant PhD in primary school education is essential.
• We expect you to have a specialisation in qualitative research and a proven track record in its methodologies.
• Extensive experience in successfully securing external funding and publishing peer-reviewed articles is required.
• Collaboration with the faculty’s research networks and the ‘Centre for Teacher Education and Educational Research’ (ZLB) is expected.
• Preference will be given to candidates whose research has empirical links to topics of particular prominence at the institution (e.g. the mediality of primary schools, childhood and childhood research, out-of-school learning environments, early education, university learning workshops) and methods (e.g. praxeological research, ethnography and ethnomethodology, narrative analysis).
• International visibility of your research is desirable, as is a willingness to engage in and experience of interdisciplinary collaboration (e.g. with sociology and media studies).
• Practical school experience is an advantage.
• Pedagogical aptitude is a prerequisite.
