We are seeking:

in the School of Economic Disciplines to begin at the next possible date a

University Professor (W2/ W3)

for Management Science

Your Responsibilities:

You will represent the area Management Science in research and teaching and cooperate closely with the existing professorships of Management Information Sciences, Technology Management and the vacant professorship of Network and Data Science Management in the profile area Business Analytics, which is in the establishment and the further development of which you will be involved. You will also be expected to submit large-scale research proposals to the DFG.

In teaching, you will be involved in the Bachelor's degree program in Business Administration and in particular in the Master's program in Business Analytics and in the courses offered by the Faculty for other degree programs at the University, including Industrial Engineering degree program, and take on compulsory courses. The teaching obligation is 9 semester hours per week. You will play an active and constructive role in the university's self-governing bodies.

Your profile:

  • You fulfill the legal employment requirements of § 36 Higher Education Act of North Rhine-Westphalia. More information on these requirements can be found at service.uni-siegen.de/prof
  • You conduct research at a top international level, which is reflected in scientific publications in first-class journals or proceedings in the fields of operations research, algorithm engineering and big data.
  • Knowledge of algorithmic game theory, discrete choice analysis and algorithmic complexity theory is desirable.
  • You have a quantitative orientation in relevant economic application areas, preferably supply chain management, logistics or complex networked systems.
  • You have experience in acquiring third-party funding (DFG, BMBF or other national science funds)
  • High motivation, professionalism and scientific experience in your relatively young career qualify you to take on extended tasks in research and teaching.
  • Willingness and ability for interdisciplinary cooperation with mathematicians, computer scientists, engineers or economists are required.

 

Appointment will be made to either a W2 or W3 university professorship, in accordance with the candidate's qualifications and experience.
