We are seeking:

University Professor (W2)
of Educational Science with a Specialisation in Special Needs Education (“Emotional and Social Development”)
Your responsibilities:
The postholder will represent the field of Educational Science with a specialisation in Special Needs Education in both research and teaching across its full spectrum. The primary focus is on Emotional and Social Development within the framework of inclusive education. Teaching responsibilities will relate primarily to all teacher-education programmes with integrated special needs education, as well as the postgraduate Master’s programme “Teaching for Special Educational Support – Inclusion”. The teaching load is 9 contact hours per week (9SWS).
Your profile:
- Applicants must fulfil the statutory requirements for appointment (§ 36 HG NRW). Further information and guidance can be found service.uni-siegen.de/professur.
- A distinguished doctoral degree in Educational Science or a closely related discipline is essential.
- You have practical experience in special needs educational settings, as well as an educational-science-oriented and internationally focused research and teaching profile in the specified area. Your research profile should be demonstrated through relevant publications, including peer-reviewed outputs.
- Applicants should have a proven record in teaching and research and possess expertise in the areas of emotional and social development, developmental difficulties, relevant didactics, diagnostics, support and promotion of emotional and social development, and knowledge of relationship-building, counselling, and multiprofessional collaboration. A focus on empirical educational research is also expected.
- Experience in research management and in acquiring third-party funding is required.
- Desirable qualifications include a minimum of three years of school-based practice or relevant experience in applying scientific knowledge and methods in the school context.
- The postholder should be willing to contribute to the academic development of teacher-education programmes with integrated special needs education and to participate in regional school and teaching development projects with a focus on inclusion.
- Engagement in educational research at the Centre for Teacher Education and Educational Research, as well as active and constructive participation in the university’s self-governing bodies, is expected.
