University Professor (W2)

for Pluralist Economics, in particular Transformation, Sustainability and Global Justice
 

Your Responsibilities:

You will represent the entire spectrum of research and teaching in the subject area of the advertised professorship. You will contribute to the strategic development of research within your area of specialisation, particularly in the fields of development and ecological sustainability, using empirical methods. You will take responsibility for the further development of the Master's degree programme ‘Pluralist Economics’, in which you will mainly teach. You will also offer courses in the Bachelor's and Master's programmes in Economics and Business Administration.

Your profile:

  • You fulfill the legal employment requirements of § 36 Higher Education Act of North Rhine-Westphalia. More information on these requirements can be found at service.uni-siegen.de/prof
  • You have a doctorate in economics or a related discipline.
  • You have proven expertise and visibility in the field of ‘Pluralist Economics’, as evidenced by publications in recognised international journals. You regularly present your research at international conferences.
  • Your research focuses on several of the following topics: Socio-ecological transformation and sustainability, inequality, asymmetries in economic relations, global justice.
  • Expertise in the application and communication of quantitative methods is required.
  • You have extensive experience in the independent and successful acquisition of third-party funding.
  • You have teaching experience at as many levels of university education as possible. The ability and willingness to teach courses in German and English is a prerequisite. International teaching experience is desirable.
  • We value your didactic expertise, which you can demonstrate through teaching evaluations and other certificates. Expertise and experience in the design of innovative teaching formats and events is desirable.
  • Experience in supervising theses and doctorates is an advantage.
  • Commitment to academic self-administration is a matter of course for you.
