We seek:

In the Faculty II: School of Education, Architecture and the Arts, Institut Musik, Musikwissenschaft/Sound Studies, we are seeking a researcher to start on 01.04.2026 under the following conditions:

• 50% = 19,92 hours

• Pay grade 13 TV-L

• limited by 31.03.2029

Your tasks:

  • Participation in the academic programs of classroom teacher education in music (BA/MA) and art studies/art education (MA)
  • Contribution to coordinating and implementing activities and collaborations of the Musikwissenschaft/Sound Studies group (including transfer and networking activities between the university, schools and the society)
  • Supporting research and teaching, supervising and examining students, and contributing to administrative tasks
  • Conducting a self-directed PhD project
  • Teaching duties: two semester hours per week

Your profile:

  • Master's or equivalent degree in music, musicology or a neighbouring discipline with a focus on music
  • Experiences in the field of musicology situated within the cultural studies and taking into account the global diversity of musical practices; in particular, cultural-historical, praxeological, artistic-scholarly or sociological research perspectives are an advantage 
  • An idea for a PhD project (please submit a max. 3 pages draft)
  • Interest in interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Experiences in contributing cooperatively in transfer and networking projects
  • Willingness in participating to the (further) development of academic programs
  • Very good knowledge of English
  • Knowledge of German is desirable
