We seek:

In the Faculty II: School of Education, Architecture and the Arts, Institut Musik, Populäre Musik und Gender Studies, we are looking for a researcher  as of the 01.09.2025  at the following conditions:

  • 50% = 19,92 hours  
  • Pay grade 13  TV-L
  • limited  31.08.2028

Your tasks:

  • Participation in the academic programs of social work (cultural education module) and classroom teacher education in music
  • Assisting in the coordination and conduct of activities and collaborations of the Popular Music and Gender Studies group
  • Assisting in research and teaching, supervision and examination of students and participation in administrative tasks
  • Conducting a self-directed PhD project
  • Teaching duties: 2 semester hours per week

Your profile:

  • Master's or equivalent degree in music or musicology or in a neighbouring discipline with focus on music 
  • Experiences in the field of popular music studies and/or in the field of gender studies; in particular, experiences in the use of ethnological, historical or sociological research methodology are an advantage
  • An idea for a PhD project (please submit max. 3 pages draft)
  • Interest in interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Experiences in participating in cooperative research projects are an advantage
  • Willingness to contribute to the (further) development of academic programs
  • Very good knowledge of English
  • Knowledge of German is desirable
