We seek:

In the Faculty IV: School of Science and Technology, ETI/HQE, we are looking for a researcher  as of the 01.01.2025  at the following conditions:

  • 100% = 39,83 hours  
  • Pay grade 13  TV-L
  • limited  until 31.12.2027

Your tasks:

  • Development of machine learning algorithms for application in the field of terahertz (THz) imaging as part of the DFG-funded research unit “Learning to Sense (L2S)“ https://www.learning2sense.de
  • Close cooperation with the research groups involved in machine learning and computer graphics
  • Development of adaptive methods for coherent 3D image generation to improve image quality and correct scene-dependent interference artifacts in the THz frequency range
  • Creating simulations to robustly understand, model, classify and segment interference artifacts from real scene information in synthetic 3D THz image data
  • Preparation of scientific publications and reports on results as well as presentations at scientific conferences
  • Support in research and teaching, supervision and examination of students and assistance with administrative tasks

Your profile:

  • Master's or equivalent degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science 
  • Knowledge in one of the following fields is expected: Machine learning, advanced programming skills, ultra-high frequency technology or terahertz technology
  • Experience in the construction of experimental setups is an advantage
  • Willingness to engage in interdisciplinary cooperation
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, very good communication skills
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
  • Knowledge of German is desirable, but not mandatory
