We seek:
In the Faculty IV: School of Science and Technology, Dep. ETI / Embedded Systems, we are looking for a researcher as of the 01.05.2026 at the following conditions:
- 50% = 19,92 hours
- Pay grade 13 TV-L
- limited by 30.04.2029
The researcher position is part of an interdisciplinary research environment focusing on behavior-based artificial intelligence. The research combines health-related AI systems and automotive AI with a strong focus on human-in-the-loop learning, adaptive models, and experience-based data generation.
Your tasks:
- Design and development of AI models that adaptively evolve through new experiences
- Investigation of self-supervised and semi-supervised learning approaches
- Implementation of human-in-the-loop learning pipelines
- Development and evaluation of AI systems for healthcare and/or automotive applications
- Collection, processing, and analysis of real-world data, in particular behavioral and sensor data
- Publication of research results in international journals and at scientific conferences
- Support for teaching and supervision of students (teaching obligation: 2 hours per week per semester)
Your profile:
- Master's degree (or equivalent) in computer science, electrical engineering, mechatronics, artificial intelligence, or a comparable field of study
- Strong interest in machine learning and AI research
- Experience with deep learning models (e.g., transformers, CNNs, RNNs)
- Good programming skills in Python (experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow is an advantage)
- Interest in behavioral modeling, adaptive systems, or cognitively inspired AI approaches
- High motivation to work on interdisciplinary research questions
- Very good written and spoken English skills (German skills are an advantage but not essential)
- Ability to work independently and strong teamwork skills
