We seek:

In the faculty IV, School of Science and Technology, Center for Sensor Systems, chair of Computational Sensorics, we are looking for a researcher  as of  the next possible date  at the following conditions:

  • 100% = 39,83 hours  
  • Pay grade 13  TV-L
  • limited  until 30.09.2027

Your tasks:

  • Research collaboration in BMBF-funded project "Track-Opt"
  • Self-motivated research in the field of of AI-supported computational microscopy with the aim of further scientific qualification (preparation for a doctorate)
  • Processing of the research project and publication of research results in relevant international journals
  • Required Skills
    1. System modeling and optimization using mathematical methods and physical models, 2. Machine Learning, possibly GPU acceleration and cluster computation, 3. Optics, especially microscopy, calibration and characterization of the experimental system, data generation on 3D cell models
  • Editing and collaboration on publications and results reports
  • Supporting the chair in organisational activities

Your profile:

  • Very good Master's or equivalent degree in computer science, mathematics, physics, electrical engineering
  • Excellent knowledge in one of the areas:
    1. Mathematical modeling and optimization, 2. Machine Learning, 3. Optics, especially microscopy, calibration, characterization of the experimental system and data processing
    and at least basic knowledge in the other areas
  • Independent research interest and professional competence in the field of computational imaging
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, very good communication skills
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
  • Experience in designing and setting up experiments is considered a plus
