We seek:

In the Faculty II: School of Education, Architecture and the Arts, Institut Musik / Junior Professorship for Composition and Music Theory in Postdigital Educational Spaces, we are looking for a Research Associate to start on 01.10.2026 under the following conditions:

  • 50% = 19,92 hours  
  • Pay grade 13  TV-L 
  • limited  30.09.2029

Your tasks:

  • Conducting an independent doctoral research project
  • Contributing to the Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes for Music Education (teaching qualification tracks)
  • Supporting the coordination and implementation of activities and collaborations within research groups, including knowledge transfer and networking between the university, schools, and the wider urban community
  • Supporting research and teaching, supervising and examining students, and assisting with administrative tasks
  • Teaching load: 2 semester hours per week in the areas of composition, music theory, and digital music production
  • Publication and dissemination of artistic and academic research outputs

Your profile:

  • Academic university degree (Master's or equivalent) in Music, Composition, Music Theory, Digital Music Production, Musicology, or a related field
  • Engagement with digital music production, particularly with digital audio workstations, electronic music, AI in music, live coding, multimedia, and/or sound art
  • A demonstrated or developing engagement with artistic research and interdisciplinary approaches
  • Familiarity with working across different musical styles, genres, and disciplines
  • Interest in interdisciplinary collaboration, especially at the intersections of composition, music theory, digital music production, education, and research
  • Engagement with music pedagogy, whether through formal teaching, mentoring, or workshop facilitation
  • Experience in developing, documenting, and disseminating your own artistic work, as well as academic publication, is desirable
  • Very good command of English
