We seek:

We are looking for a research assistant at Faculty III - Economics, Business Informatics, Business Law - Interaction Design for Sustainability and Transformation to start as soon as possible, under the following conditions:

 

  • 100% = 39.83 hours
  • Pay grade 13 TVL
  • Fixed-term contract for a period of 3 years

Your tasks:

The Chair of Interaction Design for Sustainability and Transformation is launching the project “DatenWErKIOS: Datenorientierte Wertschöpfung mit Hilfe Künstlicher Intelligenz – Open Source Smart Energy Ökosystem für die Energiewende” (Data-driven value creation with the help of artificial intelligence – open source smart energy ecosystem for the energy transition). Funded by the BMFTR, the project focuses on data ecosystems of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in collaboration with partners from industry and science. The aim of the overall project is to develop a smart energy ecosystem that scientifically investigates the collection, processing, and use of data from smart energy meters. The University of Siegen is working on two central topics within this project. On the one hand, it is concerned with the design of the platform and the question of how companies can be motivated to actively participate in and use the data platform. Second, it is researching how large, abstract amounts of data can be made accessible through AI-supported technologies, such as large language models (LLMs). The focus here is particularly on promoting data literacy and interaction with so-called counterpart technologies.

 

  • Design, implementation and evaluation of studies
  • Design, development and implementation of an online data platform in collaboration with project partners
  • Coordination of the project in collaboration with the project partners
  • Further development of your own individual scientific agenda within the framework of the research project
  • Publication of research results in relevant international journals

 

 

 

Your profile:

  • Above-average degree (master, (promotion - desirable)) in human-computer interaction, interaction design, design, psychology or comparable disciplines
  • Experience in scientific research projects and scientific writing, e.g. in the form of publications
  • Profound knowledge of scientific methodology (qualitative and quantitative)
  • An affinity for design, technology, AI and project management is desirable
  • A fundamental understanding of how technological systems shape human interaction with the world (e.g., recommendation systems) is essential
  • Willingness to engage in interdisciplinary cooperation
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, very good communication skills
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
  • Knowledge of German at least at C1 level
