In the Faculty IV, Department of Physics, at the Chair of Astroparticle Physics, we are looking for a researcher as of the next possible date at the following conditions:
- working time: 67%
- Pay grade 13 TV-L
- limited to 36 months
Your tasks:
- Participation in the research project "Test of Lorentz invariance: exploiting the potential of air showers at ultra-high energy": Effects of new physics can have significant impact on the development of extensive air showers. Within this project, based on previous work, the impact of a violation of Lorentz invariance is studied with air shower simulations and compared to data of the Pierre Auger Observatory.
- Specific tasks: literature search, simulation studies, code development, data analysis
- Preparation of and participation in publications
Your profile:
- Master in physics with a grade of "good" or better
- Experience in astroparticle physics, ideally with links to the topic of the research project
- Good knowledge of computer-assisted data analysis
- Good command of English
